We offer composite fillings at our Etobicoke pediatric dentist office. Fillings are used to fix cavities caused by decay.
What is a cavity?
A cavity is caused by decay in a tooth, resulting in a hole in the tooth's surface. This can be painful and should be treated with a filling.
What are composite fillings?
When considering tooth fillings, one of the options available are composite fillings, which are made to be similar in colour to natural teeth. They may look more natural and are less noticeable compared to other types of fillings.
Another benefit of tooth-coloured fillings is that they are compatible with sealants, allowing your child’s dentist to perform both procedures in a single sitting and thereby prevent further decay.
There are other advantages to composite, tooth-coloured fillings – most importantly, their ability to bond to the tooth's structure.
If you think your child might have a cavity and may require a filling, please speak with one of our pediatric dentists in Toronto.
